When did the 2.0D engine become Euro 4 compliant?

Just wondering when the Diesel Particulate Filter stopped becoming an option and was fitted as standard. Any ideas on the week/year?

I don't know exactly. Mine was shipped to the dealer in late September '04 and it's a Euro 3 model - I think the Euro 4's were just about on stream then though.
