Guys,

Can anyone recommend an after market Bluetooth Hands free kit that will work in conjunction with the car stereo i.e. mute the speakers when receiving a call and caller is heard through the car speakers?

Been quoted absolutely crazy prices for the Parrot CK3000 evolution to be fitted to my v50.

TIA

Thanks Des.

I think I will have to bite the bullet and pay the extra £40ish for the extra loom required for the installation of the ck3000 evo.

The CK3300 includes a bluetooth GPS device!!
Why would anyone wannting phone hands free want the GPS?
Seems like extra money for something not necessarily required..?

i have just upgraded my stereo in my v70, as i wanted mp3 player and i purchased the new sony xplod, wicked bit of kit. hands free wireless mic, concealed behind pull off front facia. works fine blue tooth to mobile and you can down load 50 numbers from your phone book also u can play mp3 audio from your phone or bluetooth device.comes with remote control. ok you have to touch your stereo to make call but once u know where your fav numbers are two clicks and your making the call. total hands free rec calls music drops out ring tone on ur phone is heard then auto answer is activated, when call is over music comes back on. no background noise A1
cost me £310 that was with they adapter (glove box) to fill in large hole left by the volvo stereo when removed and the iso leads plus installation fee.the sony explod was £350 but had been reduced to £285. sold my volvo stereo for 80 notes so well pleased with result. only down side was no bass treble controls, you have predefined graffic settings, i use xplod setting. there is a custom graffic feature but could not get the bass from the radio like the volvo radio, perhaps i need bass driver but i am happy dont really want bass cabs in the boot etc.oh yeh ipod socket on front panel as well. also remember if ur chatting to mate outside ur car and in bluetooth range and and ur radio is on someone could be talking to themselves in your motor ( hopefully my mrs, she always says i might as well talk to myself)

heres a link for you if i get it right :

the blue tooth with gps is revolutionary if you use a smart phone as i do (n73) running tom tom navigator 6. It will combine the ability to have voice calls and the gps receiver which you connect to anyway as a stand alone device to your phone, i should be fitting one soon into my s40

I'm interested too, I have a xda2 with TT6 and a Sony Ericsson 850i. One well fitted T/GPS unit that mutes the speakers correctly would be the dog's watsits. I'm fitting it in a 2002 V70.

Pids wold be great pukka.

Has anyone any expreience of the genuine Volvo Bluetooth Kit?

http://data.manageyourdealership.com/commerce/xcart/product.php?productid=16266 (but you can get it cheaper than this (think £180 ish)

I like the idea of the original equipment and the full integration into the stereo, but I'm put of by the price.

I have a Parrot CK3100 fitted to my car and will be fitting the same to my wife's car. It is in my opinion an excellent kit, very good call quality and easy to fit as well.

Not working well for me at the moment. Will not pair with a SE K800i and with the Dynaudio premium system (C70) does not mute the subwoofers!

Thanks for that. I too have the Dynaudio premium system but without sub in a V50 T5. If I bought the bluetoth kit it would have to pair with an SE k610i and a K750. From your experience that would seem doubtful.

Not muting the sub is nothing short of ridiculous. I presume thats a Volvo factory fit sub?

Yes it is the Volvo Dynaudio for the C70 with twin factory-fit subs and the Volvo approved Bluetooth (Motorola OEM) so it is a major drop-off and I am awaiting Volvo's response. I don't think these subs are in the S40 so you may be OK, but the kit will not pair with any phone which is not backward compatible with BlueTooth V0.96 or V1.0 (many newer phones are BT V2.0 backward compatible only to V1.1).

The kit comes with a wiring loom and a mute relay but this only covers the main amp (as far as I know as the supplying dealer fitted the kit).

This should of course be a factory option but instead Volvo prefer to have a dealer pull your brand new car virtually to pieces to fit something which does not work properly. The dealer has offered to pull it all out again but I don't want my car to suffer all the pulling about until I know there is a better solution.

this ones for you hashluck, auto leads do a seperate mute kit for muting systems with the volvo sub installed.

you need kit 06-904b

http://www.siocommunications.co.uk/Shopping/view_product.php?product=06-904b

good luck, maybe let volvo know.

the volvo fitted kit is a motorola unit, and you can get better others on the market. incidently volvos claim about can only fit to pre certain serial numbers cars is rubbish as i fitted everything in mine which volvo claim wouldnt work

I am giving Volvo loads of info at the moment about their own product!

I have a feeling there is something different about the Dynaudio Premium system in the C70 as it has two huge subs maybe each has its own amp and they only mute one? Not sure but with Volvo at the moment for the official answer. I am not holding my breath.
