Hi all,

We run a 03 reg 25K miles, XC90 T6 SE as an everyday car. Having really driven it myself for the first time last weekend (650 mile round trip to Reims, she performed brilliantly) I have a few newbie questions.

When you pull away, in a lazy fashion, you can hear the first turbo spool up, if you ease back off the accelaerator at this point, the turbo is still spinning but ours seems to make a grumbling noise - is this the norm with this engine? When I test drove others I don't remember hearing this but I wasn't really looking for it either!

Another question.........

We have a very small leak, only just noticed it on the left hand end of the front skid plate. Its a clear liquid but feels a bit oily between your fingers. It seems to be leaking slightly from a joint, you can just about see in the gap, between two reasonably small pipes. Looks like a flexy joint held on with two jubilee type clips either end. Is this the power steering or radiator?

Another question.....

Can anyone reccomend a specialist in the Surrey/berkshire area for an XC90? M25 Junctions 11/12/13/14/15 as a very rough guide.

Thanks,

Phil

Hi Phil

I don't have that problem ith the turbo you have but I have a D5 so maybe it's different for the petrol version

As for your question about a XC90 specialist - I am now using a non-franchised Volvo dealer whom have a large workshop - they just do Volvo's (all models) and minis for some reason whoever I've had good experience with them. They are called (I think) Carpenters of Hampton Court - basically there are about 10 minutes from the end of the M3 - so you can drop your car off and wonder around Hampton Court!!! there is train station about 10 minutes walk away which goes into London Waterloo (30 minutes)

Sorry can't help with your other question -

Good luck!

how stupid of me to not think of Carpenters! I only drove past them the other day as well.

It seems the leak is from a cracked pipe in the front and it all needs replacing, under warranty thank god as the part was £300 + plus fitting etc.
