Hi, I have a 2004 XC70 with DVD RTI adn would like to update the maps and software but have seen that the discs cost in excess of £200.... is there any alternative to paying main stealer prices?

Hi, we've had a similar problem we a couple of Volvo's purchased via auction. Discs are available on ebay but be very careful, they may not work. I have had a new RTI disc in the past and attempted to copy it. The discs are dual layer DVD discs and are copyrighted, so it's impossible to copy.

Painful as it may seem, the only option is to buy new from Volvo, after speaking to numerous master technician's around the UK, this is the only option (so far!).

Of course you can copy these disks. Only use Verbatim double layer DVD+R disks. I always make a backup which I use in the car...works perfectly.

The updates are very expensive from Volvo - I have version 0648 - anybody have the latest version? I think its 0720....?

mine just says "S80 2006 -" on the box and discsI'm pretty sure it is one of the menu options under 'Settings' (maybe off the screen at the bottom of the list).
