help loud induction noise under load

help anyone please im proud new owner of v70 2004 but i am a little conerned that when i accelarate hard there seems to be a loud induction or maybe exaust noise is this normal ?
the car runs fine and is averaging around 42mpg also seems fine when cruising along just concerns me when under load.
any members near east yorkshire i could call on to hear their car to compare noise after all may just be me hearing things as a newby to volvos but spoke to a few people and oppinion is D5 is a refined engine and i dont think mine is, please help if you can.

Can you try recording it and posting a sample here?

As for refinement, I've always felt that the D5 is not as great as many people make out.
It's still some way off the petrol engines and not even as good as many newer 4 cylinder diesels, IMHO.

On the move it is very quiet, but all diesels are these days.

Can't deny that 5 pot howl is lovely though! :)
