Hi Folks

Just had major service inc Cam Belt Change........but did not have dynamic timing done afterwards.......my mechanic advised me that everything was marked up and returned to previous setting (which seemed fine....i.e 43mpg average and 48mpg on motorway, according to computer)

Am i ok to plod on or should i have the dymamic tuning done too?...

Thoughts please

Many thanks

Danny

Only issues with not setting dynamic timing are poor economy (which you seem ok on), great economy but poor performance but neither will create great issues. If the car decides the timing is too far out your engine management light will come on. My main advice re timing belt changes on 2.5TDi units is 'make sure every tensioner, roller and water pump' are changed, don't skimp. Timing belts lasting 80k are fine but if water pump fails at 120k (which they can and do) you'll be sick.

Hope this helps!
