Before anyone moans about joining the forum just to sell a car, I haven't. It seems my previous posts have been wiped whilst the forum was closed.

1993 Volvo 460 1.8 Auto

83,500 miles

old MOT's and service docs.

Full leather interior in superb condition

Air-con (that works great!)

Remote locking

9 Months MOT

Tax due at the end of the month

The car is in useable condition. The only major problem is that the ignition barrel broke on my last Friday, so I had to smash it off (stranded on a pub car park). It's now a screwdriver turn in the ignition switch jobbie to start. The auxilary drive belt has started to whine a bit. What more can I say. I have been offered £150 for it by a breaker, but thought if anybody else wanted it to use or even break themselves they could. I'm located in Stoke-on-Trent.

So £150 for 9 months MOT free motoring:

Hi all, What super pics, I owned one of these once (approx same spec and yr) and your pics brought back fond mems, looks too clean and tidy to be put into crusher, would like to have taken it onboard as a project, but have too many commit's etc.
Re: Subject of noisy gearbox, it is possible that this can be 'fixed' without having to remove transmission from car, find a local gearbox-repair-shop and get free diagnosis, pretty sure they will tell you same thing.
I do have a Volvo gearbox (cvt) which came out of my own car, it was reconditioned but never refitted and would welcome sensible offer. B.

Barry where does it state the autobox is noisy?

Original post by Univex makes ref: ''The auxilary drive belt has started to whine a bit'', I took this to mean the steel drive-belt withiin the gearbox, which does not generaly create any significant 'whine' but is usually caused by a failed bearing. B.

That is way too good to be sent to the breakers. If i wasn't saving for a house, i'd bite your hand, no, arm off! I just don't need a car-i bike everywhere!

Plus i have access to a genuine Volvo 460 bodykit in that colour which i have first refusal on...would love it, even as an Auto (never like auto's, but this one is exceptional!).

Good luck with the sale....don't send it to the breakers!

I meant the belt that drives the power steering pump is a bit noisy.

I have a potential buyer anyway from another forum, who should be picking it up this week.
