Since having the clutch changed recently on my 96 P reg 440 1.8 fuel injection, I have noticed that the top of a 'unit-sensor?' is missing.
The remaining part of the unit sits on top of the casing in front of the clutch end of the engine. It is fairly loose and turns freely.
The manual is of little help.
Any ideas please.

The guys above is correct - it is the top of the breather unit.
