Joined this forum to try and assist my Dad with his broken car.

He has a M-Reg 1.9td 440 which the cambelt went on him 5 days after the MOT had been done. Just would like to know what the probability of the valves hitting the pistons are?

The car has only done around 70000 miles mark and his is really gutted that its happened.

Any help would be grateful

It depends on whether he was driving at speed or it just broke on start up. I believe these are interference engines so it's probable that it has bent a valve or more. You could just buy a new belt and see if he's been lucky :lightbulb:

With such low milage I would spend the money to put it right...that is if it were damaged. Hope not!

Best of luck...
