Hi guys. I want to get some new tyres for my Amazon. The ones on her now are old and worn out. Since I am re-spraying her in a two tone scheme, I want to get white walls as I am spraying the wheels red. I think I will have difficulty getting white wall tyres here in Ireland. Although, maybe not, if someone knows of a supplier please let me know. Failing that, can someone recomend a good supplier of white walls in the UK and maybe a good brand? Also, what would be a good size? The wheels are 15 x 4.5 inches and currently have 165 tyres. I think this is the standard tyre, but does anyone recommend fitting a wider tyre like a 175? Or am I better off with the 165. All advice welcomed. Thanks a million, Hugh.

There's North Hants Tyres in the UK - here's what they have in 165/80R15:

The whitewalls are a tad expensive compared to the normal tyres though!!!

Have you thought of using tyre trims? Rimmer Bros do a set.

Then you can use whatever tyres you like.

Thanks guys. Man, those white walls are expensive! I might consider the tyre trims, but I will keep looking.
More importantly, I would like to hear peoples experience with tyre sizes. Is it worth getting a 175 or even a 185, would it improve grip, although at the expense of heavy steering? Is it better to stick with 165 and whats the best profile to use?

Alfa - I just had four tyres fitted. They are TOYO and are 165/80/15. They feel really good and are a better ride than my old Vredstein Sprint +.
I got them from tyretraders and they were 188 pounds fitted. They find a garage near you and send them straight there.
