Hi guys,

I've been planning on upgrading the factory speakers and i'm worried that they are too deep for the doors. I've found this info (mines is standard 6speaker system) but cant seem to determine what will fit or not:

LOCATION................SPKR.DES..SPKR.WATT...SPKR .SIZE.#.OF.SPKRS.Total
Front.Door..............Woofer..........75...6.5".1.In.each.door...2
Front.Door..............Mid-Range.......75...3.0".1.in.each.door...2
Front.Door..............Tweeter.........75...1.0".1.in.each.door...2
Rear.Door...............Coaxial.........75...6.5".1.in.each.door...2
Rear.Door...............Tweeter.........75...1.0".1.in.each.door...2
Center.Dashboard........Woofer/Mid.Rge..25...5"...1.in.center.dash.1
(without.Nav.Sys).......Tweeter.........25...1"...1.in.center.dash.1
DEPENDING.ON.WHETHER.S40.HAS.NAVIGATION.SYSTEM.OR. NOT.DETERMINES.DASHBOARD.SPEAKERS
Center.Dashboard........Mid.Rge.........25...3"...1.in.center.dash.(1)
(with.Nav.Sys)..........Tweeter.........25...1"...1.in.center.dash.(1)

Anyway, anyone upgraded from factory (6speaker) and any recomendations with speakers? I've already fitted some tweeters in the rear doors (huge difference) but i'm lookin for a little more kick! Are the speakers 17cm 6.5" or 16.5cm 6.5" as i recon this could make the difference between a solid install and a 'botch' job. I was looking into component sets (which still could be a possibility for the front) not being a full audio buff i'm looking to spend around £40-50 per pair and see some good options out there.

What i gather - you want as big a frequency response range as possible (35-2500Hz), a high RMS output(30watts+) and thats basically as far as my knowledge goes. Also are 2 ways better to go for than the 3ways if i'm installing a sub and tweeters ?

Any problems along the way? Fittings etc..I also plan to tap a source from the rear doors and get a sub in there (along with a high/low converter)!!! Anyone done this and are there any problems?

Cheers and I'll let you's know how i get on.
