Spots

Morning all, i'm wantin you all to dredge the depths of you memories for me. I'm thinkin about putting spots on the sled, but i was wanting to get the right ones for the era, so which make did they tend to use when they rallied them, cibie, hella, piaa, wipac, KC, bosch, etc?

I always thought there was a minimum height for "headlamps" that could be used at any time, and this height also defined the maximum for fog lights, but I have had a look at the Lighting Regulations 1989 and it does not specify a height.

I wanted my extra lights to be legally usable as headlights and so mounted them 24" from the ground. (see the previous thread.)

What you should go for is not spots - but 2 identical big 'evil' search-lights for the A-pillar! - That would look cool on your setup! :) Don't disturb that grill!

ooooh, i like that idea, can they be set up to work of main beam? i thought they swivelled?

I'm in the same boat Tom-my desires and ideas are much more plentiful than my cash at the mo,I've seen a few singular ones come up on uk ebay but not pairs.
so far I've seen them called "appleton" or "lorraine" lights hope this helps with the search and if you find a reasonable supplier give me a shout cos I'm gagging for a set

might be worth a shot, and just looked on da'bay, you can get em a bit cheeper from usa, 70 quid, inculuding postage here for a pair, not really cheep, but about what you'll be payin for normal spots

Couple of those swivel spots on ebay just now, price will no doubt get a good deal more shocking though before close of bidding. This is the less shocking one but it might catch up !
