s60 de-cat! is there anything else need doing?

hi im new on here, just wondering ive been thinking of getting a 3'' downpipe with a de-cat on my s60 2.0t ive been told to find out wether the boost is regulated from the back pressure from the exhaust, if so it will be more free flowing and run too high of boost! anyone know anything? thanks
