Its time to sort out the noisy prop once and for all, it's off and ready for ballancing.. anyone know of a place in the South West.. Somerset area who can do such a deed?

Are you sure it's the balance of the prop & not a UJ or the centre bearing?

its mainly the rearmost uj, think I may have damaged the prop when fitting it, so a specialist should be able to sort out any damage and balance it

They're not easy to damage unless you've got a REALLY big hammer. There's usually a piece of steel plate tacked to the shaft. That's to balance it. Might have come adrift but unlikely. You really need to do both parts to get the best result.
You could ask Tony Miles in Salisbury - 01722 710447 if he knows of someone locally. He does competition prep on older Volvos.

If you don't mind taking it to Bristol I know a great place, they shortened, balanced and installed heavy duty U/J's on mine. Nigel really knows his stuff. HJ Chard propshaft services H.J Chard & Sons 1, Cole Rd, Bristol, Avon BS2 0UG Tel: 0117 977 7681
