Hi everyone i am new here and just brought myself a 2006 volvo s80 d5 changing over from bmw 2004 5 series bmw and a 2005 e class mercedes.
I love my new car but i think i know why the previous seller sold it now !
The car drives perfectly for the first 45 minutes or so and this is why i could not detect this fault with the gearbox as when it heats up it gets a little temperamental ie changing down from 2nd to first 1st theres a jerk which is hard to avoid and sometime pulling away from first gear it gets a little confused as if its not sure what it wants to do???
i spoke to a volvo specialiest and few gearbox repairers but they seems to want to go for the worst case and change the whole gearbox for £3000 which is half of what the cars worth!!!
I am confused and upset, please can someone shed some light on me please.....
