Sorry to hear this. Even if you don't see this, Peter, get well quick and look after yourself. I am still trying to organise a trip to that part of the world for 'tea & bikkies' and to show off my near 300000 mile 760 diesel.

I didn't know your 760 diesel had done 300 thou!! Theres hope for mine yet then at 96 thou (the engine that is, can't say the same for the gearbox or back axle!)

Yes, Peter has been poorly and his wife too but I see that he still contributes a little to VOC magazine, I think he last logged into the forum in December

Peter did attend the AGM at Gaydon; I introduced myself to him, as I have a 740 and he is the register keeper.

The engine is just coming up to the 300000 mark. The rest of the car has only done about 250000. The original engine suffered a catastrophic cam shaft failure but in best 'Blue Peter' fashion I had one I prepared earlier ...

Lol

I was very dissapointed when my starter motor packed up on the 940 when I was down in Wales at xmas as I was supposed to have been going to see Peter when I was down there, not only was I looking forward to meeting him but his knowledge of D24(T)(ic)s is awesome and I suspect he would have made a correct verdict on the troubled engine as 2 diesel specialists have failed to do correctly...

If only such glues were strong enough ... :) :)

In my observation, Peter Milnes has been a stalwart and very knowledgeable contributor to the Forum. I hope we'll have him back as a 'regular' before too long. In the same way as Peter, ending each of his helpful posts courteously and habitually signs off, I would like to wish him and his nearest and dearest
All the Best...
