440 Big End...

I just got hold of a bargain 440 1.6 on eBay.

However, got it home and it sounds to be the big end has gone.

I have 2 questions:


Does and one have any big end shells kicking about for the 1.6 petrol engine??
and, does anyone know what engine(s) would fit in without too much hassle?


For the engine conversion, im thinking something bigger - maybe Turbo?? 1.7Turb??

If not the 1.7, then does anyone else have any decent ideas?
Want something with a decent amount of power that isn't the HUGEST job in the world to do...

Also, as i'm here asking about more power - what larger brakes will fit on??
