Estate R15 165 recommended tyre pressures

..I just bought an Amazon Estate last week sitting on what I think are standard R15 165 tyres. I was checking her over at the weekend and found that they are all pumped up to about 34psi. The handbook that came with the car has a sticker glued in which say something like 'braced wall tires' f/r 26/28psi. The original handbook online at http://www.volvoamazonpictures.se says 20/23psi.
Does anyone know what correct pressures should be (light load 1-2 people). I did a search on the forum and found lots of good info about different tyre makes, but nothing about pressures..

Hi & welcome!

Ignore the 20 / 23psi handbook pressures that you found, as they are for crossply tyres.

I usually ran 165R15s at about 28 / 30psi all round. However that's just my personal preference.

My 2p worth,

on saloons I usualy run 30psi front and back
on the estate I'd go 30 front and 32 rear - pretty close to what Paul has suggested.
