Here ya go Tom. 1970 B20A with the M40 gear box. Will look a bit odd to ya cause its a left hand drive so some things are a bit swopped around. This is it when I got it:

I have since taken off an internal cut off switch and replaced the air filter with a K&N so it now looks like this:

Terrible I know. Thats just dust from the respray job....

Cheers Hugh, thats spot on, thank you. Did you buy that K&N to fit, or did you have to get out ya modifying stick?

Got it to fit. They make one specially for the Strangleberg.... has a spot where you can make a hole for the breather pipe too if you need it. Cant beat the bit of shiny chrome....

First one is very tidy - I was going to offer you a fuse box cover but I see that you've since acquired one...

Good man yerself Aidan. Thanks a mill, but yeah, I got one a few months ago. My next job after the spay, is an engine tidy up, so I will be interested to see what else is posted on this thread.

I'll post mine over the weekend - its also LHD but single circuit brakes ('67, Swedish) and a few other bits and pieces from when I got carried away with the credit card a few years ago.

The first shot doesn't need much improvement.

Here's some inspiration for you...

Interesting to see the differences between this one and my one. Especially the brake servos, and the big linkage from the brake pedal to it that wasnt needed on the left hand drive models.

Take a look at the volvo amazon picture gallery. Lots of pictures from the amazon, included some of the engine bay.

Here's mine - it started off as a B18A with M40. I fitted a B18B head, twin SUs, D cam and Simons exhaust with multibranch manifold. Finally I found an M41 and fitted that as well. The more eagle-eyed of you will noticed that I couldn't find my spool of black wire at the time so the overdrive was wired up entirely with red wire. I'll get around to fixing it eventually.

The car's been laid up for a while as i was tied up with other things but I've taken it for a few shorter runs - I need to redo one of the exhaust joints before going for a longer drive. I reckon the timing needs a tweak as well but the fuel is a little old so I've to get through that first.

My previous battery splashed acid in its general area so there are a few surface rust spots - I'll eventually get around to that too.

Edit:

That didn't go too well - had to reduce the picture to upload it and lost some of it. I'll take another pic later

Here's mine - did have a single stromberg, now with twin SU's but apart from that not much else is different to standard.

Exhaust needs to be done and megasquirt wiring, then it's time to try how it runs :)

Here's one of my "late" engine...the B18 that has now since departed my 64 1800S.

I kept the SUs and these billet air cleaners from this head and they are now on the new engine. I bought 'em because it's easier/cheaper to re-oil these sponge filters than to buy new paper ones around here. Other thing is cool is that there's a built in 30mm air horn milled into the aluminum. Very nicely made and not too pricey ($80 each). I dug up the website and saw they make a cool gas cap for Amazons too.

I'm getting my car back tomorrow and I'll take some better pics and post them over the weekend.
