Loss of workshop!!

Posted Jul 11th, 2017 at 19:22 by BrianH

Having given a large proportion of my collection of Volvo bits away, I still had 25 boxes to take to the new flat with an underground parking allocation. The boxes were arrange neatly arround the Volvo.

I knew this was not wise as U could see this might be a fire hazard. All boxes were marked and an inventry written up so I could find things. Sure enough a annual fire inspection identifided them and required their removal.

This was done within 24 hours.

I did'nt tell SHMBO but one result in the move was the 0 insallation of an over heating radiator, and Alex Smith's 200 bill!!!

Dont get old!

Next problem....the rear windscreen wiper is not working. This is of course the classic through the hinge design fault of the 240!! I must have replaced this wiring loom 10 times in 28 yers of ownership, but finally following advise from the Volvo magazine I modified the connections so I could pull the damaged portion of cable through the hinge and reconnect. I am about to try this for the first time. Though a purest, I think the best solution is the free flowing coiled up cable.
