Well as both 240s are going to be needed on Wednesday and Thursday for getting me to work and Mum's taxi service to operate, the head gasket is going to have to wait. There is just too much danger that something will not go back together correctly on Tuesday night. Current plan is to take the head off Thursday evening, have it skimmed on Friday and then have the weekend to get it all back together again.

Just talked to a local place that can do same day turn around on skimming heads so I'm pretty much all set for doing the head gasket now. I may see if I can get the head off on Monday, get it skimmed on Tuesday and possibly put it back Tuesday evening. Always assuming the weather cooperates of course which is looking possible at the moment.

The white 240 seems to be running OK at the moment although I watch despairingly as the rust gradually progresses. The red 240 has just recently blown its head gasket although I am still driving it on short trips. It's burning oil and drinking coolant. I have the parts to do the job, its just finding the time. It will have to...
