Low pressure fuel pump

Posted Nov 2nd, 2008 at 22:37 by souts

I am having difficulty starting my V70 D5.
apparently the low pressure pump is most likely at fault.
Is it difficult to replace, has anyone got a purchase point for the pump. My Volvo garage is quoting 200+.

I replaced my V70 D5 2003 low pressure in tank bosch pump with a second hand Denso pump for 10 taken from a 2000 model Toyota diesel , its the exact same fit and gives the specified 2bar pressure output , this was in August and have done quite a few thousand miles since and its still working , you need to use a heat gun to soften the plastic pipes attached to the pump to get them off and on again . The hardest bit is getting the complete sender unit/pump out in one peice without damaging anything .
