Head lights. Bewarned

Posted Feb 26th, 2018 at 18:53 by BrianH

The main metal relay behind the glove box has over heated agian over many years though.

The muti plug behind the glove box, starts to melt and effects the spade connection.

Beware although I have 21w running lights I offen use my head lights during grey days

In heavy rain on a fast dual carriageway I did'nt know the headlights were not on. No warrings no lights on the dash!!

The dip/head was becoming intermitant on the stork so replaced. The dim/dip solenoid was replaced, but it was headlight relay connection at fault.

As the metal relay cover must get hot enough to melt the plastic multiplug, I have now got some heat sinks to attatch to the metal body of the relay, as attaching the relay to the vertical support behind the glove box seems lacking.
