V50 Drivers Seat Upholstery

Hello
We have a V50 just coming to the end of warranty with 22,000 miles on the clock. The drivers car seat has developed small holes/tears on the upright by the door.
Probably caused by getting in and out of the car.I think the material is just not fit for purpose and it has never happened in any previous car with up to 150,000 on the clock.
The dealers have said it is damage-have emailed pics to Volvo warranty and unsurprisingly they have agreed and refused to repair/replace under warranty.
They have suggested I contact Volvo Customer services which I will do.
Be really helpful to know if any one has had similair problems.
Many Thanks.

You don't appear to be the only one. See my post on July 4th in V50 section about seat splits on driving seat cushion of daughter's 2007 V50. I've used "Copydex" adhesive to secure the small flap of upholstery but that doesn't deal with the small splits and it should not happen on cars of this quality and age.

I sympathise as my last three cars with leather seats have all suffered scratches in this area. The problem is that if you have a button or stud on your rear trouser pocket you drag across the leather as you get in. Now I am aware of the likely problem, I am VERY careful. I think you'll have an uphill task trying to persuade Volvo it's anything more than self-inflicted damage...
