slipping clutch v70

Posted Aug 22nd, 2008 at 14:05 by mikfish

hi i'm an owner of a 1998 v70 10 valve 2.5 having done 139000 miles. the clutch is starting to slip yet everyone i speak to even the volvo dealer in which i bought it says its unusual, i'm not mechanical minded but wanted to ask if there is any adjustment of the clutch. the volvo dealers are quoting me 600 pounds sterling to replace the clutch which makes the car unrepairable at that cost - any help would be appreciated

Volvo life

I've driven a Volvo since 1999 when we got our first '86 240GLE estate. Currently the fleet consists of two '88 240GLT estates, one red and one white and a '67 1800S, white. The white 240 seems to be running OK at the moment although I watch despairingly as the rust gradually progresses. The red 240 has just recently blown its head gasket although I am still driving it on short trips. It's burning oil and drinking coolant. I have the parts to do the job, its just finding the time. It will have to...

No Spark on 850 Turbo

Posted Aug 16th, 2008 at 22:40 by papat87gt

I'm getting ready to light a match to my 94 850 volvo! I parked the car with no problems and has not started since! I't getting gas, replaced the coil, fuel pump sensor, wires, cap, plugs and it still just turns over until the battery is dead. Any suggestions would be helpful because am getting to have an old fashioned southern bond fire in the driveway!!!

Soon to be HOT 850 Volvo in North Carolina!:B_rant::B_rant::B_rant:

Posted Aug 6th, 2008 at 20:16 by dave sawyer

I am having problems with my 1998 s80 t6 geartronic. I have had warning lights coming up. the latest one is "transmission service urgent". When this came up before it was found that the shift solenoid was faulty. I have been told that i need a new gearbox. after doing some research i have come across another s80 where the owner has said they have problems with warning lights coming up and was told there was a fault with the ecu. can anyone out there help me!!!!!!!
