Tin Worm....Now 18th October

Posted Oct 18th, 2017 at 18:18 by BrianH

I've seen the extent of the welding required on my 245 GL 1989. OOFF!

Alex tells me should finish welding Friday.

Then has to install all bits removed for welding safely.

Woried about the bill now. 40 per hour plus VAT

Good investment I like driving this solid classic. On On.

Hope to post photobucket photos of the work by Darious.

Posted Sep 17th, 2017 at 16:50 by BrianH

Failed MOT on corrosion, knew it was comming!! Old age.

Goes in to Alex Tuesday 18th Sept.

Mostly small areas nearside sill

MOT missed larger area on nearside box section chassy and floor.....Must be safe!

Then the plastic rear mud guards will go in, making shore it does'nt cover the MOT failures for retest.

Rebuilt rack going in

Posted Sep 10th, 2017 at 18:06 by BrianH

Ive been running with a second hand rack while the origonal is rebuilt.

I should have waited for the rebuild as the were so quick and the used rack was not a lot better.

Now the origonal is back in. Just awaiting the final universal joint to be delivered.

Also I gave Alex of Al Motors the plastic rear mud guard inserts to fix telling him to make sure there was no rust that needed to be delt with first.

As with all tin worm always worst...

Loss of workshop!!

Posted Jul 11th, 2017 at 19:22 by BrianH

Having given a large proportion of my collection of Volvo bits away, I still had 25 boxes to take to the new flat with an underground parking allocation. The boxes were arrange neatly arround the Volvo.

I knew this was not wise as U could see this might be a fire hazard. All boxes were marked and an inventry written up so I could find things. Sure enough a annual fire inspection identifided them and required their removal.

This was done within 24 hours.
