    My husband had just removed the heater resistor this evening before I saw this, but he was very impressed with your information. Hope this is the problem, will try to get one from the breakers.

    Can you help him to find out how to remove the roof aerial from his 2002 V40? You seem to know how to do most things, so sure you will know!

    Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks for the introduction to the Owners Club Forum, sure he will find it useful. Has loads of bits he will put on for sale from our old 740 and 240s.

    Hi Gatos just wondering could u help me out with a 98 v40 Td d4192t which i saved from the crusher,a lovely car just excess diesel smoke on start up after a mile she drives like a rocket no smoke.I got the injectors done and i can see the glow plugs i put in working perfect while the injectors were out, i put the same type of t belt back on as was before i could just make out the gates part no on the old one is this the engine with the electric control inj pump no.4 injector has a wire going to the inj pump do the pumps give trouble. There has being a few guys rooting at this before me with the amount of tip ex marks on it and they have moved the inside adjuster on the injector pump pulley looking at the marks they put on it hope u can help or point me where i should be looking cheers

    Very good guide a lot of reading i would of covered a lot of that in collage many moons ago the euro version we had in collage was The fundamentals of motor vehicle technology its a very good read but covers a lot more than just diesel engines,but im saving your suggestion its a great reference cheers and thanks

    Hi there,
    Anyone know where I can purchase an engine for a 2004 S40. She's a 1.9tdi engine type D4192T3. My last one blew as a result of the fan belt.
    Fan belt snapped then got caught in the timing belt and the rest is history !!!

    Would much appreciate any assistance. Thanks.

    Check the thin wires in the pump. The solder points become weak over time, or one of them might be broken.

    Checked all the wires had pump out looked normal .unplugged wires from pump harness ligh on fuel gauge stayed on .the fuel gauge was all over the place prior to the total failure ...what a pain ...

    The wires fail at the soldering point. Try re-soldering them and if that fails, then you might need a replacement sender unit.

    The sender unit is the whole assembly you removed. The pump is inside the sender unit. Try resoldering and if that does not work, then I have a spare pump/sender unit
