Volvo V50 - Annoying Little Issues Rattle / Wind Noise

I have a Volvo V50 (08 Plate), which todate I have had a couple of annoying little problems, which are starting to get to me?

1) A rattle from the drivers door pillar, it has been back to my main dealer a number of times now, in my view it is something to do with the internal seat belt mechanism, has anyone heard of this problem before?

2) Wind noise through the drivers side of the car at motorway speeds, again been back to the dealer with no change, although I have now noticed my drivers door, is now slightly more pulled in when shut, so their appears a ridge when you look down the side of the car, as the door does not sit flush and follow the line of the car, again any ideas how to cure this wind noise??

Apart from that a great car!

Many thanks in advance for any information?? As it's driving me mad!!

Afraid not, after all this time and 3 new seatbelts, still there - have given up as car going back soon - thank god for that as I have to say probably the worst car I have ever driven - if they build them on Friday 13th then this one tops the class....!!!
Sorry I couldn't help, but you can only bang you r head against a brick wall so many times!!

I found another forum post which appears to have resolved the issue!

Grab a can of sillicone spray, and spray around the seals on the top left of drivers window - the rubber, furry bits.

I sprayed every rubber seal on the window to make sure and hey presto, that rattle is now a thing of the past!!

    Rattle front drivers door

Hi Stephen1974, I had this problem, it turned out to be the door seal. The sound made me think it was a rattle. I tried everything eventually, in desperation, I put some silicon grease on the seal that is on the actual door above the window.

That cured it for me ... see my post
