2326cc engine

I continue to be impressed with this engine.

I can change to 5th at 40mph and progress to 60/70 easily on duel or motorway easily.

The MPG is well up.

Running on Mobile 1 fully synthetic 0/40. About 5k per ltr.

Now about to go to 0/30 Amsoil fully sythectic with by-pass double fillration and laboratory oil analysis again.

A really good solution for high mileage

power windows 2

In replacing the starter motor the gear box was easied to the side to get to the top bolt.

This dislodgded the rubber boot on the gear stick, The old one was split on the location holes.

The drive down to Bovey Tracey was noisy. I thought the gear box was on its way.

In Dorchester on a break looked at the old boot to try to relocate............and saw the gearbox connection to revearse wire over the steel body was exposed.

Front power windows

Thought this would be simple.

Intermitant fault. Changing the fuse was one tempory solution.

Then later as I switched the ignition on bang would go No.10 fuse. No.12 was blowing too.

Confused I took it to an Auto Electrian.

I said I thought it was the ignition switch. He did not agee.

He found the reversing switch connection loose and shorting. Windows working now!

Next day windows failed again.

Exhaust bits

All re-welded for single bolt front end. OK, going well.
May be this needs to be lock nutted?

Even more exhausting

Posted off the two SS boxes for 22. Rear box will be replaced FOC. The middle box testd OK.

Both due back now after two weeks!

The foolproof way, is to run two SS systems. Now that IS expensive.

The second Volvo system has failed (3 months old), now not only the rear box baffles, but the single bolt which holds up the entire system to the manifold disappeared and as there is no weld on the telescopic vertical joint to the manifold, it dropped off....
