    D4204T V70 2.0d 2010 vibrating/knocking when switching off

    Hi guys,

sometimes when I come back home and I switch off the car, I feel a massive vibration from the front end. It does not switch off smooth as most of the times do.
Been to the garage the other day and they had a look to the engine mounts and they said they are ok. I think it does it after a long trip but I never really check that properly.

Any idea if this is normal or what it could be?

    Thanks in advance

my first thought was Dual Mass Flywheel ...

also check that the throttle flap shuts when you turn the engine off .

He can rule out or pinpoint the throttleflap by connecting the torqueapp and watch the throttlereading or disconnect the the hose and watch the flap when somebodyelse switches off the engine

the 2.0 D is a simple plastic vacuum flap with no feedback so you cant do this . The very last 2010 model year DID have a feedback potentiometer but i doubt if it is used by volvo , probably just for other ford. citroen etc applications .

The vacuum isnt regulated with another (relay)switch?
Anyway you can test it with visual inspection when shutting off the engine?
