OBD car to computer cable/reader and software

OBD II car to computer cable/reader and software

Does anyone coming (or not) to the Meet know anything about the data cable that connects to the OBDII socket?

I have read about them on the Volvo forum and seen loads of them on eBay. There was one article about fake cables. My emission warning light is on and I was wondering if it was cheaper to get a cable or take the car to a specialist, if I got the cable I could then use it for other fault diagnostics and even help others.

So, before I splash out £30 or so what do you know/recommend?

Thanks

Greg

I'm bringing a lead/software/laptop for someone else if you want to try it...

Yes please.

If I bring a memory stick can I have a copy of the software to have a go at?

Thanks Greg

No problem. A warning though - my 850 isn't fully OBDII compliant despite having the port, and I wasn't able to pull fault codes from it using software. I'd need a flash code reader doodah for that. I was able to reset service lights and chat to the ABS though. We'll try it anyway and see what happens.

N/S/R light assembly for 1996 Estate - Wanted

Anyone got a N/S/R lamp assembly for a 1996 Estate?

It is slightly different to the earlier ones and 740's, the bottom of the lens should be the same width as the section above, the earlier ones have a smaller bottom section.

If you have can please bring it with on Sunday

Thanks Greg
