No problems with my MY2009 XC90

You can really feel the adaptations changing when you change the way you drive.

Did Volvo alter something at some stage to rectify this issue because my recently purchased 2007 D5 XC90 Geartronic does not display this fault even with a heavy caravan on the back.

I have this delay on my 2010 Exec.
Just have to wait for a bigger gap in traffic.

Pain in the backside. Only starts moving at 2k revs. Got to anticipate and hit the throttle early.

2005 XC90 D5 AWD, Geartronic.

Still fascinates me, they either do it or they don't ! No in between , love to see a group survey , just to see if there's a common factor that causes it

Probably driving style....

I always let the torque converter engage before I floor it.

It has also been linked to poor vacuum pump performance to activate the turbo.

Also as has been said pressing the accelerator input pedal too fast will slow down acceleration. I think I precharge my accelerator slightly before I'm ready to accelerate. It was so much second nature I don't really think about it.

On the XC60 I often use the indicators to get instant acceleration. (they are linked to computer if you have adaptive cruise control)

Remember the accelerator is an electric input device to the computers giving them an instruction about what you want. Not a physical link to the engine fuel system.
