That was just a general comment about internet payments and not aimed at anyone in particular, just keep your eyes open to any type of fraud.
Its easy to fall victim to it.

I too have no affiliation to cheshired5 but I have absolutely no reason to doubt his integrity. He recently supplied me a new VIDA unit having fully tested on video first. A very helpful chap - thanks. (just look at all the U Tube "how to" videos for volvos)

I have had past experience of buying untested units from Chinese Ebay sellers. The first one didnt work at all and the second was so flakey the results could not be trusted. In both cases the seller would only replace the unit if sent back!!! Big problem - the return shipping charges are more than the cost of the unit, even IF you could write the address label in a Chinese typeface!

No VIDA unit will work unless you can correctly load it in a windows 7 professional environment or emulation.

The unit will pay for itself the first time you use it to diagnose a problem rather than take it to your local agent who will charge you heavily for the pleasure.

I can't get one now, but if you sell these regularly, I'll definitely be up for one after the summer hols ;-)

Have no intention to hijack your thread cheshired5, but if anyone needs a far more portable solution than a laptop to go with these DICE head over to this post

The total payable would be approximately £125 or US $165 and delivery should take just under a week.

I've heard the Vida software can be set up on a Win10 laptop via VM software, do you know anything about this? how hard is it? Or am I better off obtaining a Win7 Pro laptop?

You'll still need a to install Windows 7 on the VM but the process is straightforward.

Just a few lines to say that I bought the Dice from Simon, had it delivered yesterday and had it up an running this morning. I'm not that great with software/hardware installations, and had read about the nightmares that many people seem to have with Dice, so I had never bothered getting Dice in the past. When I read about Simon's deal I decided to go for it. Simon was a great help with his youtube videos, email and phone calls. I'm already diagnosing problems and erasing old fault codes. I'm really glad I went for it.
