Checked mine, 2.3.1 and it says up to date :(

Got home from work this evening and the car tells me that 2.5 is ready to be installed. Takes 1.5 hours and apparently the car is out of action for that time.

Had the car two weeks and it was on 2.4 previously.

Is there a proper process for it Adam? if it's going to take that long I'd estimate to do it the car will need charger assistance unless it quickly downloads and you don't need the ign on while it installs. Worth checking before starting out.

I noticed the cloud symbol was on at the top of the centre screen as I drove home. Had a notification on my iPhone and followed the instructions on the centre screen - get out and lock the car. Think it took a hour before another notification on the iPhone that it had completed.

I don’t think it uses much battery power as the car is powered down anyway.

Too cold and dark now out to go and check if it starts!

All you need to do is set the install to go on the main screen and then lock the car and leave it alone while the update installs (for those with a T6/T8 Recharge, don't plug it in either as this prevents the installation process for so.e reason).
Mine took somewhere around the 1.5 hours to install and I got a message on My Volvo App telling me it was complete and hey presto, it was done. Simple

It appears to work in the same way a map upgrade finishes off only a lot longer, still at least the how 2 is now up and running here

Ours updated to 2.5 yesterday (MY2022 B5P)

Think it must have upgraded transmission software or at least reset adaptations as gear change was noticeably different this morning.
Also, and not 100% sure if related, is that dash and screen illumination parameters have changed - despite the headlights being on the dash and screen switched back to daytime lighting very early giving bright displays and the wheel adjuster having no effect?

Not noticed the gear change differences this morning (mine updated last night to 2.5) but the release notes did say drivetrain updates (or similar). I seemed to be getting far higher MPG figures per the trip computer too which can't be right.

Anyway update was painless.

I think there is a new icon on the dash (driver display) too - the overhead view of whether seatbelts are being used when people are sitting on the seats - the small icon appears for a short time after starting.
