Wireless Headphones not working

Many thanks - I had tried this, but to no avail - I have one set of Thomson headphones which work fine. I have put new batteries into the Panasonic headphones and connected them up to my home stereo using the Panasonic transmitter and the headphones work fine. When I try to tune them in the car, I have played a DVD and listened to it on the Thomson headphones, but the Panasonics just give non-stop interference - I have been trying to tune them very slowly, but still not working.
Any other thoughts ?
Many thanks for your help...!

I just looked at the model no you quoted WF810H. Where did you get those?

I can't find anywhere that sells them other than ebay.

The model I have is RP-WF810. Running search on those brings up load of places selling them. I got mine from Amazon.

Have you bought a different model?

I bought them from Amazon UK - the box states Panasonic RP-WF810 Headphones. On the actual headphones it says Panasonic RP-WF810H - not sure if there's any difference, but I have just reserved another pair of RP-WF810 headphones from Argos, so will see if they are any different - hopefully they will be, or I'm stumped as to why these won't work...!! Thanks for your help so far - its much appreciated.
Cheers

I've just been out and looked at mine and they do indeed have RP-WF-810H printed on them, so it's strange that mine work and yours don't.

Have you tried it the other way round....seeing if the Thompson set works with the Panasonic transmitter?

Panasonic RP-WF810EB-K is what's written on the box as well. I just bought another set from Amazon and they work fine as well.

RP WF810 - Panasonics

I initiated this thread and have subsequently bought a pair of the above headphones and I have the same problem. 1x Thomsons work fine and the Panasonic just have constant interference. I spent half an hour slowly trying to tune them in and nothing -aargh am so frustrated with this.
FAZZY did u ever get a resolution on your headphones - did u try swapping out the transmitter to use the Panasonic one instead of the thomson ?

Other thought is we both have 04 and 54 plate cars and Rory you have an 05 plate - wonder if there is any difference here..

Any help grateful, as apart from being a complete idiot in fixing things in general I am really annoyed at wasting all this money

Thanks

Well, the ones from Amazon work perfectly with my 03 car. I bought two sets and there is no difference in sound quality to the Thompsons.

Can you find out what model Volvo supply if you need extra headphones and see if they supply a different model for your car?

OK so the issue is the existing infrared set up is on a radio frequency and the headphones II bought are based onan audio frequency - well thats what Ive been told - so that why it wouldnt work. I tried some more headsets that did work - so will be selling the panasonics on ebay unless anyone wants 2 brand new sets !

Why not just swap the transmitter if you have two sets?

I don't understand the bit about audio frequency by the way. Your ears can recieve an audio frequency and the speakers in the headphones could transmit it, but I don't see how a set of wireless headphones could recieve it, because it wouldn't be being transmitted. You'd be able to hear it anyway if it was being sent as an audio frequency. Also the frequency quoted on the headphones only covers a couple of notes. Human audio frequencys covers a huge range. 32hz to 16384hz
