I've bought panels from VP previously. They normally specify patern or original.

The original Volvo screen surround panel was made with a central divider. This is to keep the aperture in shape when the shell was constructed at the factory. They cut out the divider after the panel is welded in. It carried on right through 200 series production, as this video shows

Thanks

Plan is to get windscreens out , get all the rust out and if theres any budget left get phill a full respray.

The repair section looks intresting (I wonder if I can get it back as hand luggage on a Rhyian air flight?), I'll have to see how bad it is when the windscreen is out.

Then look at the engine / engine bay at a later date, I'd like to get the engine bay resprayed at some point and get the head converted to run on unleadded and or Gas

Hi,

my name is António and I am from Porto, Portugal.

I also have a Volvo 144 GL 1971 sunnroof, B20E engine and M41 gearbox (4+OD) and blue (color nº 102).

It was of my grandfather and I buy it.

I have the same ideia. It's a very rare version. I know only another 144GL in Porto.

My 144GL has 361.000Km !!!

Antonio

That is a really beautiful car. Has it been restored, or just kept very well?

The seats are immaculate!!!

Cheers

The car was purchased new in 1971 by my grandfather and remained in the family.
Has been stored in a garage for 15 years and in 2006 I bought it.

It took a slight restoration. New paint, new upholstered seats, new tires and some mechanical parts and their review.

And now it's just guide you. And it's fantastic.

I remember as a child going with my grandfather.

Another photo last sunday, in a show of classic cars in the town of Vila do Conde.

That may be the best 144 I've seen- Great colour (alpine blue?) That and the metallic turquoise and gold are the best. The fog lamps look good too.
