I'll add you on, I'll be finalising everything this week then look to add more on.

The only thing you will have to pay is £28 and guessing you could also flybfrom stanstead? Or will you be driving?

At the moment I'm more thinking about flying, and yes, from Stanstead airport.

Dibble,

Worst case scenario if you can get the train to Newcastle you could travel in the car with me and the Mrs.

Many thanks, Cumbrianmale. What a very kind gesture. I have decided to forego the trip as what seemed a very reasonable two/three days in Gothenburg is, whichever way I look at it, turning out to be quite an expensive adventure. One of the advantages of living down south is the availability and cost of flights.
I worked it out roughly that counting the cost of the flights, hotel for three nights, meals, spending money etc. it was going to cost me about £900. Just a bit too much for this pensioner.
Nevertheless, I will be following this thread and wish you all the best. I have no doubt a good time will be had by all.

If its not too late I would like to add myself to both parts.

I really wish I could go but my drivers license was revoked in may 2014 so to get the money to go would be virtually impossible. Looking forward to seeing pictures of the event

As a regular traveller to visit family in Copenhagen, I would say that flying is much cheaper than any other way, even taking into account trains ,or car hire, or taxis and airport parking, and a damn site easier for a short stay.

Taking the car is great if you share the costs/driving etc but now that the Esbjerg route is closed , even going by ferry from Germany saving bridge tolls it still is very costly, and it's a long way.

I have only done it by Flights to Copenhagen and then by train from Kastrup to Malmo to Gothenburg which runs regularly and takes about 3 -4 hours normally.

But both SAS and Norwegian fly to Gothenburg direct from Heathrow and Gatwick at reasonable prices , and I recommend both carriers.

That should be ok.

If those interested can update the list, that would be great.

A few of us will be booking flights from stanstead in the next week or so.
