Today was the day to attack the 240s paint work

So I….
1. Rinsed
2. Snowfoamed
3. Rinsed
4. Clay bar
5. Rinse
6. Simple abrasion pad with cutting compound/polish
7. Rinsed
8. Polar seal ceramic spray
9. Rinsed
10. Hand buff

While the paintwork has a few scratches, stone chips and small rust spots - the lustre of the paint does come through so nicely after that!!

Spent the weekend fettling

New HT Leads

Then I set about adding the rear badges back on the car (they came with the car in a box of parts)

Ran a line of tape across from the lower edge of each indicator lenses to get the right level

Step back - check. Looked ok.

Backed the badges in 3M double sided tape and trimmed

Then lined up the badges and fixed

What else did I do today….

Used some of the colour matched spray paint and a fine brush to touch up some of the stone chips and scratches and damaged door edges from sloppy previous owners!!

Plus a scratch repair pen on the lighter ones

Car is looking great

Defo needs a new exhaust so looking at getting a full stainless system

Take your time and enjoy the motor car as a 'rolling restoration'.

I do like a well-aligned badge. It's amazing how often you see a good quality (and very often professionally applied) paint job ruined by wonky badges!

cheers
