Hello,
I finally got Magnus back from the police today, so I've made an inventory of all the damage that has been done and the parts that have been stolen. I've pasted the whole list here, so if anyone has any of these parts and would like to sell or donate, please let me know. (All postage and packing costs covered, of course). Hi there is a chap called Neil mobile number 07931231932 based in Leicester that is breaking a 2 door car. I was there yesterday and got some stuff from him he has also got some parts already stripped off the car. I got a dash from him for £10 and various other bits and he wasn't dear. I don't know how far away it is for you by maybe worth a call.
Good luck |
I have a radio blank if required. I will get a piccie tomorrow for you.
Possibly a complete dash panel and pad. All based in North London though. Ken |
Just emailed you with details of the parts I can help you with - let me know if you haven't received it!

If we just go for the radio blank then that would be easy enough to post, I guess. I may be interested in the dash panel and pad if they're in decent condition - still considering getting a piece welded into my existing panel and respraying, though I definitely need the chrome strip in any case, and I don't think it would be wise to post that! I'm planning a road trip with an estate car the very first week of August, and a few kind folks have already offered me some bits, so it might be possible to include North London in that trip. Many thanks, Andy. |
Hi Andy, I'm going to pop down to the garage shortly, I'll take a piccie and post it on here.
Hopefully no-one has parked in front of the garage! |
Hi Andy,I can do you a pair of grilles and a coil/armoured cable.I don't have any door trims left.Do you want to pm me your address and I will send them up to you,or are you heading down Banbury way anytime soon.(jcn 11 M40)
Cheers Dave |
Hello,
A big thanks to those who've already helped me with sourcing parts - it was good to meet you all on my grand tour! There are some bits I'm still struggling for, especially: choke knob/rod auto steering column cowl/selector display dash vinyl pad (I can buy new but we're sailing close to the car's value on the insurance claim, and this is the biggest single part cost at the moment) I'm surfing ebay for stuff, but I'm also in the market for wing mirrors and fog lights (I stress fog, not spot). I know the auto column cowl is rare - I'd consider importing from overseas if needs be. Many thanks, Andy. |
Hi Andy,
I have a choke pull lever you can have foc. Sorry i can no longer meet with parts during the working day as i have retired. Sent you a text. Chris. |
Hi Andy,
I have found a vinyl dash pad. As usual the vinyl has opened up to reveal the sponge on 1 of the troughs. Opened up on the 6th trough from the left. Maybe satisfactory for you. £20. Chris. |

Thanks to Underdrive and 123gt-Amazon I'm not on the case with the steering column cowl. Two more little things I could do with if anyone can help:
windscreen wiper switch (that you know to be in good nick - we're OK to strip this one down but if there happens to be a nice clean one out there, great) double filament (ie 2 input) bulb holder for ignition warning light Many thanks, Andy. |
"double filament (ie 2 input) bulb holder for ignition warning light"
The one in the speedo? Single filament BA9s. 656852 Bulb socket goes with that. Is yours missing or in need of some TLC? Can't help but Robert might be able to help you out again? |

Did you try the ebay listing for the Amazon Automatic that was being broken?

Did you get a auto column cowl, if not one here but with a crack: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2018570490...&ul_noapp=true
|
Can't see a cowl here but do see the lens which has PRNDL on it, along with its bulb holder. It's an odd selectin of stuff so worth an ask re any related parts. Good luck if you are stuck for these.

Great find, thank you! I actually have the transmission selector display thingy, that survived, it's the column shroud that was shattered into a million pieces.
I still think I'm going to end up manufacturing something myself, but I'll keep on the case, and I will ask this seller if they have one. |

Thanks Robert, that would be great. Would you like it back, ie I can use it as a pattern to make a new one and then send it back to you? Or is actually a spare that you don't need?

It's a spare we have , I had removed a full working set from a customers car including the gearbox and all linkages and now the parts on the car can be put to one side we will keep a set to go back on the dark blue four door Amazon auto project but I believe we have two cowls it's the indicator part we were missing off the project when we looked for you last time . I'm over there today so will check and confirm if we have I will bring the two part cowl back home to take pictures and ready and if it's of any use your welcome to have it as it's helping Magnus and not a part we use much so moreuse to you to get Magnus back to full working condition . I will post some images later on tonight when I have internet but I'm sure it was only the indicator part that screwed on top of the cowl we was originally missing so sure we have the spare cowl here for you . Speak soon Kind regards Robert.w |

Thanks for thinking of me Adam. Hopefully Robert Whitton is sorting me out with the magic part that I need, so we should be sorted, but I'll have a look anyway. BTW when I eventually get to sort my garage out there is an old distributor in there with your name on it! Cheers.
