Abandoned 940 project car + loads of spares

My 940 project is officially abandoned now ! Ill health and life got in the way.

Selling loads of parts I accumulated - starting off with BRAND NEW CT20 and T3 Turbochargers.

£110 each + carriage at cost. With insurance probably around £10.

I'll list all the other parts but include brand new front vented discs, pads, cone air filter [ K&N ], roof bars, rear spoiler [ new ] [ now sold ].

2 x sets of alloy wheels in excellent condition, most with good tyres [ pix to follow ]

Will also be selling the rust free / damage free car [ one small scratch ].1991 auto. fitted BRAND NEW Bilsteins and -40mm Killen springs Doubt if you will find one with a better body / chassis. Needs NO NEW / REPLACEMENT panels.Will post up proper ad next week.

The ones fitted to the V70 [OEM ] are pretty good and at least 2 of the tyres are excellent. £25 per wheel and tyre.

The others I bought to go on my 940, until I decided to use the Jag wheels. Again £25 per wheel and tyre.

The large wheels are 16" Jag - shown in place with spacers attached. Set of 4 with all the spacers I have - £180.

Which Bilstein are they, and do you know what axle it has?

I'm back from hols now - but I think I've read your ad wrong! I thought for some reason you were parting the car out, rather than selling whole.. hence my interest in the shocks!

Yes, need to sell complete as I have a medical issue now which means I can't work on the car. Hence abandoned project !

That said the price I'm looking for would only just about buy the suspension. mods !

I must say I was tempted as I've been offered £250 for the engine.:teeth_smile:

I think yours may be Volvoguard 1 but if its Volvoguard II do you have the fob for sale please?

New boxed discs / pads now sold, thanx Andrew.

Despite wanting the car to go on to be someone's pride and joy project, it seems that nobody wants a rust and dent free donor car that's had £1000's spent on it in the last 15K miles or so.

I have 2 serious offers for the engine now [ new head, turbo 10K miles ago, etc,etc. ] and also the radiator and Intercooler both replaced by PO. Today I had an enquiry for the auto box - also perfect.

Then there's the brand new Bilsteins and Killen springs that have done all of 7 miles since fitting !! That's from the workshop to my house.

My issue is that I cannot carry out the dismantling due to health issues - if I could do that ..... I'd be able to finish it off !

So, IF I get serious commitment to buy the large lumps I may well see about breaking it - big shame.

Update. The car has been starting and running sweet as a nut for the past week !!!!! :omg_smile:

Engine still perfect and started in the 2nd spin of the starter after standing for over a year !!

That's not to say the issue is fixed as I have done nothing since abandoning it a year ago :rolleyes:

Unbelievable - starting first time every time every day.

So, looks like someone's missed a bargain - and my project is back on :teeth_smile:

Do you want the front brake pads back? - they are the wrong ones for my calipers... Sorry, not offering to return the discs!

Ha ........ strange they were ordered as a set ???? I'll take them back if no use ! I'm just glad all my other goodies didn't sell !!!

Sitting here waiting for the DX driver to collect your other parcel.

They would have fitted my old 740... the ones I use now have a central ring above the steel backing plate with a wire spring wound round it and going out towards the top corners, rather than 2 tabs sticking up from the backing plate with pins going out over the pads.
Would it be worth checking they do fit your car before we agree on the postage?

it's the accumulated spared I was selling - not breaking the car ..... far too good for that.

In fact now my health has taken a turn for the better - AND the car is starting first time every time [??] and purring like a kitten - I'll carry on with it. I never really wanted to part with it anyway although I was tempted when I was offered £250 for the engine and £175 for the auto trans !!:cool:
