XC 90 passenger seat occupancy sensor

Anyone knows whether the front passenger seat in the XC90 m.y. 2004 is equipped with an occupancy sensor that prevents the airbag from opening in case of crash when the seat is not occupied? Mine opened, so I have to replace the whole dashboard plus airbag.
Of course there is a weight sensor that makes the alarm buzz when the belt is not fastened, but it seems not to cooperate in airbag attivation.

Thanks.

You may get an answer through a technical query on the Volvo website, unless one of our blokes has already gone into it with Volvo.

All the best, Peter.

You have to get a manual shut off switch added at build time. £25 option then but i think its about £100 to retro fit. Its just a stanard key operated thing like you get in AUDIs
