Data SIM card - new deal
 

Currently use a "Three" network data sim in the car - mainly for Spotify, plus the RTTI.

It's due to run out very soon (12GB) so was wondering what other options and pricing is available.

Does it have to be a pure DATA sim or can a combination SIM work with data allowance on it? Guess the best way to try is to put my phone SIM in the car.

Smarty which is a three company 30gb for £10 a month, working no problem on XC90, also no contract pay up front every month cancel when you like. Don’t matter if the sim has voice on as long as it has data. There’s cheaper stuff out there depending on your data requirements. 30gb is over kill!

I got a 60GB 24 month pre laoded data SIM from 3. includes roaming in Europe as well.

You might be able to buy it cheaper and get it quicker too, on Amazon. I believe others on here have also bought this for their cars and are extremely satisfied with it. I believe you can also check your data usage on the card by going online.

And I do believe your Volvo Dealer might be able to set you up with a 100GB Data SIM card.

I'm not sure what the deal is but all new Volvos are fitted up with one of these from new.

That is the one I use and never have a problem with it, I got mine from Amazon but that price is very competitive.

I’m on my second 24gb 3 sim that lasts 2 years. Bought it from Amazon for about £33 last October when the price dropped. Kept it in stock until January when the other expired. Just need to keep your eyes on the prices as they do vary considerably

And besides the above used, how much data does the rest of you use, during a year?

Got a brand new XC90 a few months back, but are still looking after a simcard, but I'm in doubt how much data is needed on a monthly/yearly basis....

I don’t use Spotify or any music app. Do download maps, and traffic info. Use CarPlay with my phone on the vehicle Wi-fi, as I like to use Waze. Used about 12Gb in 2 years.

the current Amazon deal on the 3 sim - less than 2 quid a month for spotify etc works for me - as WRD says tho prices do fluctuate
