Auto high beam
 

Having owned xc90 for over a year, one thing I’ve always moaned about is auto high beam not staying on despite saving it to profile. I was under an impression that in the latest software upgrade this was take. Care off. I had mine serviced this week and have tried this but again, despite saving it to profile when engine has been turned off and then on, setting is not saved. Is anyone else in the same boat?

Auto high beam is on a spring loaded reset on the stalk, it does not stay in the on position, it has to be turned on manually each time you restart your car to activate it. That is the way it was designed.

On my car it is always ON since the last software update in February.

I will try it. I can't remember how long it is since I drove it at night. Not since last year.

That was my understanding as well. I have manually turned it on, saved it to my profile and the key but it for some reason does not stay on 😑

I know that software has been upgraded because I can see some changes on the sensus menus, not sure why this won’t work!

you are right but I thought software upgrade allowed it to stay on once saved to profile/key

Some updates only apply to later models, we might not have had that applied, I have not seen the latest update list.

Once switched on it stays on for me.

they're trolling you. it can't be. there isn't any mention in any month of the update software list. You need always to switch it manually. And makes sense like that. In my other car, BMW 5er series g30, has also the full led system and the auto high beam and you need to turn it on every single time. You get out of the car, next time you want to use high beam you'll have to turn it on manually.
