Melton Mowbray Classic Car Meet - May 25th
 

If the weather is kind this can be a very pleasant way of passing an evening. It takes place on the last Friday of every month in the town centre in summer, from 5 o'clock to around 8, and there is almost a 'carnival' atmosphere in the town. More details are on the Council's website.

There is no charge, and there are usually one or two Volvos amongst the cars and bikes on display - a beige 244 and a white Amazon are both regular attenders.

There is ample parking for non-exhibitors, which I think is free after 6 o'clock.

I have no connection with the event, but as we enjoy it I thought others might, too. If you wanted to display a car, you can just show up and they will direct you to a suitable spot on the street.

The forecast isn't brilliant - it seems there is a slight chance of showers - but it should be a good turnout all the same and worth a visit if you are local!
