wanted 940/ diesel tic estate. will have a very good life!!
Hi everyone. I am after the above, i have always fancied a big old rwd volvo diesel box to drive up and down the country in every day, now the time has come for me to actively start looking for one. I would really like one as nice as can be but really i just want something thats as original as possible. If there are any 1 previous owner top spec cars with 50k on the clock that would do nicely.... see i have a sense of humour too ! Ha. I have a really bad case of falling in love with cars i own, and dont own for that matter. My job is looking after the collection at an accredited museum, and i promise ill do everything i can do keep it going for ever and ever !
Thankyou kindly, will vg hope you can help me find this hens tooth! |
Edit: sorry forgot to mention, a manual would definitely be preferred. 960 would be nice too !

Good luck with your search, they do turn up from time to time.
Apart from 960 diesels, not on this country anyway, as they never sold them here. I converted one though, best of both worlds :) |
Ahh i did wonder.. hah. Thanks for the reply !

Patience is something i do fortunately have. This is a car ill be keeping for a very long time, so choosing the right one is paramount! |
If you find any that aren't quite tinewarp let me know. I'm looking for a good strong runner needing love.
There's one on carandclassic but it's using water and has been for 7 years. I don't know if it would be the headgasket though, he said he's noticed a spot of water under the front before. |

Other than conversion as also mentioned, if you want luxury as well as diesel then hold out for a 940 with some extras. This SE, like my GLE, has got optional leather, air con and electric seat. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volvo-940-...p2047675.l2557 Another option would be a 760 TD mk2 but that is indeed the proverbial "hens tooth" |
Yes it is indeed that red one with the wheel trims!
The owner is away a lot and he's best to get hold of at night, I don't know what if anything is wrong with the car but the water use put me off as it had the headgasket done a year before that and I fear a cracked head :/ |
