Volvo and solar energy at Ghent plant.
Volvo Cars has for the first time introduced solar energy into its global manufacturing operations. The installation of 15,000 solar panels at its car factory in Ghent, Belgium marks another step towards the company’s vision of having climate-neutral global manufacturing operations by 2025.

I'm amazed that we still have factories that don't have solar panels lining the roof, huge amounts of space ideal for solar! generally speaking big enough not to have any other buildings/tree's to affect generation either.

Large/ big factories SHOULD be made to install solar heating / photo voltaic panels , It is they who benefit initially & then us .
An old boss had a cheapo solar heating set up on his roof in the late 80's & had been there for years prior . Old central heating rads painted matt black under plain glass covers , even in the depths of winter they were capable of turning freezing ( not literally ) water into warm water . In summer you had to be very careful when getting hot water . I am thinking of fitting my V70 with a mast & re-purposing our duvet covers to improve my fuel consumption figures , any other mad fools interested ? |
