XC60 oil leak - very sudden!

Evening all,

I'm sorry in the first instance that my first post is one asking for help!

We have a 2014 XC60 RDesign D4, just covered 70k
The last day or two I have noticed oil on the drive. Today I took the service panel off where I was horrified with an oily mess. I spend the next hour cleaning as much as I could to pin point the leak.

When the engine was running, it seemed to be having the occasional dribble through a half moon on the gearbox casing.

However I noticed more of a flow through two nearby threaded holes in the casing - although there were no bolts in them?!

So I'm panicking this is a crank seal issue, gearbox off etc. I've read that the D5 engine has a common problem with a core plug located within the gearbox.

Has anyone experienced this. Hoping the gearbox can be left alone but not convinced!!

Otherwise how too guide to removing an auto box would be handy?!

Cheers
Huw
