Retrofitted parking sensors. People's experiences?

Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone has had parking sensors retrofitted and what your experiences were?

I am personally interested in:

- overall satisfaction
- what make you got and if you have a display/camera as well
- coloured coded to bumper?

Any tips or anything to look out for?

Any recommendations would be superb too.

Feel free to chuck anything in though related to the topic. Would be interested to hear from all.

I used these guys http://www.parkingsensors.co.uk/ Had mine fitted outside my house (didn't want to do the bumper removal!) Went for black. Took very little time and working for 2 years now. Can be supplied for DIY too.

Hi,

I have an 08 Volvo v70. Any idea where I can get the kit from? Do you need a satnav screen for the Volvo one to work?

I got these from Ebay

Easy to fit. Left the display at the rear of the car (figured I'd be looking in my mirror anyway), that way I didn't have to route cabling to front.

Ran the display cable up the rear pillar and brought it out at the boot light.

I bought it for my V70 as I wanted the smaller sensors as a posed to the larger ones on my model..However I fitted the kit only to find that the Volvo download for this kit wont work for my model..

I'm always up for a deal..

I have an aftermarket sensor kit I bought about 2 years ago for the V70.

I'd weighed up the bumper sensor positioning to take account of the towball and had the rear bumper marked up ready for fitting - then the auto box failed.

In fact I nearly fitted the kit to Vectra I used while the V70 awaited repair, because I struggled to get used to the Vectra hatch rear vision after being used to the V70.

I'm sure I'll fit the kit to the V70 within the next year or two. :nah::nah:

Fitted some the other week using a kit off ebay, easy peasy fit and forget.

The colour match wont be perfect but its good enough for me and looks miles better than black!

Oh nearly forgot, they are cheap!
