Feeding back, got through quite quickly and offered a hefty discount on their parts which being brand named were naturally over priced IMHO.

Oil filter reduced from £11.60 to £7.81,pro rata for the air filter, fuel filter and spark plugs, which were reduced from £55(!!!) to £36 (!!??)

As regards fuel filter(same applied to timing chain) he'd not processed an order for one in 15 yrs!

I need to check if my V50 has had an updated auxiliary belt fitted or need to get the updated kit, reduced from £127 to, £94. If it has been updated then both belts are £46.

Need to chat my mechanic and check premium alternatives on Eurocarparts.

The small price differential between Volvo OEM and europarts premium range in the main isn't worth the saving on the majority of parts as the OEMs outlast the copies.

If you want to save money but get but get OEM quality from the original Volvo supplier do a volvoforums.org.uk site search for the recommended original but otherwise branded parts you are looking for. (That includes suspension and steering parts..but make sure you do get what you are paying for - there are an awful lot of counterfeit car parts around.

Sound advice ASt85, which I will put into practice!

Used FRF today to obtain a new bonnet release cable for my S40. Excellent service and transparent pricing with a good discount, with no pressure to buy.

Overnight freight transport of the part to dealer and being sent out tomorrow First Class, we don't even get that kind of support on commercial vehicles sometimes!

Will definitely use again when needing parts!
