"ilixa"
Problems with a D5252t ... I think its the pump timing but the car is off the road and i need to check it, has any one used this software and or able to take a look at my car?
Would be so grateful I am between a rock and a hard place at the moment for various reasons Thanks to you all |
Pump timing
Andrew, I have the software and have found that it's difficult to get the engine hot enough for it to work without taking the car for a good 30 min drive beforehand.
In the winter with the car outside, the fuel temp doesn't reach a high enough temp, so the timing function won't start. It might be ok in the summer though. I assume the engine's running and you just want to check the timing - if it's not running then ilexa's no use to you! Hope you find someone nearer! |
What year? If it's 98 on (don't know which month) then only a VCT2000 will read the ecu dynamically - applies to MSA15.8 with the electronic MAF. Regards.

Thanks
Thanks, I will have a look at the details, How do I tell the type of "maf", Its a car I have bought as a non runner but it does start and go but it sounds terrible, more noisy than it should. I was wondering if the noise could be down to pump timing being out although it starts well and does not smoke, the engine management light is on but the car is not "on the road" so its rather difficult to get it to a garage that may be able to read the codes.
If anyone has any ideas i would be grateful Thanks to you all again |
take a picture of the area where the air filter box where the maf is and post up we can then tell you.
